Greetings on your upcoming nuptials! The decision to hold it in one of the lovely Hamptons wedding venues calls for more congratulations, too. You and your loved ones are in for a truly wonderful experience! There are, however, things you need to keep in mind, for a hassle-free wedding preparation experience for you and your fiance/fiancee. Here is a list: Know what you want. Before you start working on anything wedding-related, sit down with your future spouse to make sure you’re both on the same page. Talk about your expectations about the process, about each other’s role. Talk about how much time and effort each of you can devote to the preparations. This is also your opportunity to set ground rules, such as who gets to have the final say for each aspect of the wedding (e.g. clothes could be the bride’s turf, while the venue preparations could be the groom’s), or your parameters for your guest list. You can also agree on the general theme and the schedule. By having this talk, you can also ensure that nobody outside of the relationship can confuse you and force you into something you don’t like. Delegate tasks. Preparing for the wedding can be a truly meaningful experience for the bride and groom. But if both of you are also busy with other engagements, remember not to take on all of the tasks on your own. That’s what your family and friends are for. Of course you should still be the one making the big decisions, but you can assign the people closest to you to be the coordinator of each of the major aspects of the wedding, say, your mother can take care of communicating with the caterer (e.g. scheduling food tasting sessions, your sibling can be in charge of talking to the hosts and the wedding band, while your best pal can be the point-person for anything related to apparel (e.g. getting in touch with the designer and/or tailor). Then, you can hire an overall coordinator. Be nice to each other and have fun. Tying the knot at one of the Hamptons wedding venues is going to be one of the most important moments of your life. For sure, there’s a lot of pressure to make it perfect. But this pressure can also cause disagreements, or undue stress for you and your fiance/fiancee during the preparations. So when you list down your schedule and the costs, set aside time (and funds) to treat yourselves when you need a breather. You deserve it, and it will also help strengthen your bond as a couple.
